Anatomy A215 Virtual Microscopy
    Use of the virtual microscope

How do I use the virtual microscope and can my computer do it?

    • The odds are your computer can handle the virtual microscope, but if you are going to look at the slides from home you will need a high speed connection.

    • Instructions on how to change the field of view and magnification are on the right side of the viewer for each virtual slide.

    • In order to use the virtual microscope, your computer's web browser must have the Adobe Flash Player plug-in.
      • To see if your computer is ready to go, click here to open a viewer for a sample virtual slide.
      • In the slide viewer window, you should see both the virtual slide image and, at the bottom of the viewer, a navigation tool bar. Use the pan and zoom controls of the tool bar to explore the virtual slide.
      • If you can not get things to work, click here for the Adobe Flash Player plug-in.
        • Remember to restart your computer after installing the plug-in.
